About Acute Children’s Services
Acute hospital services are the treatment of illnesses over a short period of time. This is often associated with a emergency services departments and other short stay facilities. Most hospitals with have some form of acute facility. It is often the goal of these departments to deal with the immediate severe illness before discharging the patient or moving them to another department.
The Acute Children's Services department is dedicated to providing these services to children. This therefore requires specific skills, not only being a specialist in pre-teen illness but also the ability to understand and create a bond with children.
