Human resources - Maersk

Position - Human resources

Date of Interview - 2008

Round - 1 of 2

Notes on the interview - They asked the following questions for this interview. I think they are quite common questions for human resource positions.

What sort of people do you work best with? Who do you find it hard to work with? How do you deal with these people?

How do you cope with working closely with people, whilst maintaining a professional approach to work?

Are you able to work independently?

Are you able to work some overtime (if necessary)?

Are you willing to travel as some recruiting would be out of town?

What does it mean to be a "self-starter"?

How do you work under pressure?

Can you give and accept suggestions, criticism? How would you give criticism?

Have a variety of talents (you might have to arrange a birthday party for the CEO....can you handle it?)

How would you communicate with those at the top of the business, and how would you communicate with those at the bottom?

Are you discreet (sometimes you may be aware of litigation between company and ex or current co-workers)? Can you give an example of a time when you have had to keep a secret?

Do you think you will require additional training to complete this job? Would you be willing to undertake further study?
