Teacher training and golden handshakes

I'm considering looking in to doing a PGCE. I've seen all those adverts about £5k goldne handshakes etc, but are they the real deal? Or are they only applicable to a few people but they're using it to lure people in?

I think everyone gets the golden handshake...but I may be wrong.

I think people definitely get a grant whilst doing the studing which you don't have to pay back. I have also seen the adverts for teaching. Couldn't do it myself because I hate kids but the money doesn't look too bad for a job just out of uni and in the current world a job for life with decent holidays sounds like deal.

Don't know why teachers moan all the time...

Its not that easy, trust me, but there is some sort of a payment scheme.
