Tax for new to country

Postby Hannah » Mon Mar 03, 2008 9:53 pm

What do I need to do about tax if I have just moved to the country? Will my new job sort that out or so I need to contact someone? :!:

Your new job should sort this out as far as I know.

You might need to get yourself a national issurance number though before you can work. You should look at the HM Revenues and Customs web site for more details - http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/index.htm

Luckily my employer sorted this all out for me. I can't give any more information on how to deal with tax for someone who is new to the country because I don't know.

I guess most people that work for a big company will see it sorted out by their employer.

Not very helpful, sorry!
